| Might I already be starting to see the "joys" that arise when one takes on moderating a forum?
Seeing a possible need to cease drama by locking a thread?
Getting reprimanded, over nothing important, by a moderately still-new member? Said member telling ME that I need to delete MY post because I said "Humans ARE animals" to which this person claims they are NOT animals?
Noticing that a few people are constantly annoyed by this forum member? Or at least ired multiple times by the same member.....
This is me pondering "Oh me oh my, whatever shall I do?"
This is me saying I'm going to watch the festivities progress and if issues continue, there will be a warning said. Both in private and on the forum.
And if it persists, I find myself tempted to bash my skull in on this fine wooden desk my laptop sits on. | |

| It doesn't get easier. When the whole AJ/Souf bullshit came up, I decided that I'd deal with it like I would at work. Both folks get a light scolding. A One-Day-Ban.

| Well, Souf kinda did what I did with Verbluten on the old forum. I attacked him quite a bit, but that's because he was making stupid posts.
I'd say AJ was doing that too.
I'm going to wait this one out, see how this one forum member behaves after he reads my PM. If he continues to yelp and scream, insisting that I do one thing versus another, I'm going to remind him of his status on the forums and remind him not tell a stranger what to do, especially over the Internet. And a warning. | |

| my own opinions, but...
he's not stupid, he's just short sighted, for the time being atleast.
and ignorant- i don't think he quite links how he treats others yet with how he becomes treated.
i think another part that may play in is motive; i'm thiking he just likes to get a rize out of people. it's something difficult sometimes, even for myself, to think of an actual person sitting on the other end, and translating all these symbols into coherent meaning; more drivel- but- there are about 10 levels of translation.
ideas to words to maniupulating fingers to pressing keys to transfering them to signals to translating them to screen to tranferring over electronic chords, et cetera.
i guess my point is sometimes meanings are easy to become lost. just trying to be generous, i guess.
he wasn't always a jerk to people (that i have noticed), he also has not been to me.
hopefully it is just a matter of gaining more experience. | |
